UNC WR Tez Walker DENIED…AGAIN | North Carolina vs. App St. W2W4 Preview | Game Predictions

The NCAA announced on Thursday that it was, once again, denying the request for reinstatement of UNC WR Tez Walker’s eligibility, meaning that the transfer will have to sit out the entire 2023 season. Head Coach Mack Brown, AD Bubba Cunningham, and Chancellor Kevin Guskiewicz all put out statements admonishing the NCAA and supporting Tez Walker.

And yet there’s still a game to be played Saturday as the Tar Heels host App St. on Saturday looking to put last year’s performance behind them and simultaneously show that last week’s showing against South Carolina was no one-off fluke, but rather an indication of what the 2023 North Carolina Tar Heels will be.

Host Isaac Schade shares his W2W4 preview including watching both lines, more balanced offensive attack, and making sure that the Walker news provides motivation rather than distraction. And of course…GAME PICKS!

The Nintenerd says:

I don't follow football, and I don't even really like football. However, what is being done to Tez is absurd and should not go ignored. The NCAA is trying to "prove a point" with this case but flat out ignores and does the opposite with other cases. I hope the reason we haven't heard a statement from Tez yet is because he is lawyering up. He and his family should.

Mike Shaw says:

The NCAA is power hungry and does not really care about the student. There are the congress of college. The teams need to band together and get rid of the NCAA.

Tony Dowd says:

UNC 52, App St 12

Tony Dowd says:

App. St's backup QB has a pretty good arm. He beat the pants off Gardner Webb with his over the top passing. Secondary beware!!!😮

Tony Dowd says:

I think the NCAA had to prove a point showing they were not going to be bullied by the public attention…..

Tony Dowd says:

I can't imagine how devastating this must be to Tez. Breaks my heart Issac 😢….
So much for mental health and the NCAA.

Brian Cash says:

Jeff Goodman has always been a bone head towards Carolina anyways!

J B says:

If this young man's primary reason for coming to UNC was to get an education, then there should be no problem. He has one academic year to perform in the classroom instead of on the football field.

BIGG KUSH says:

GOD BLESS YOU ALL ITS BIGG KUSH EVERYDAYER CHECKING IN ITS SAD NCAA WANT LET THIS MAN PLAY NOT HIS FAULT THEY CHANGED THE RULES MESSING WITH THIS MANS CAREER

John Cramer says:

PURE UNADULTERATED B.S NCAA SCREW THIS UP BIG TIME

TheLight0003 says:

"Hold to a self-set standard"? I hate to burst your bubble, but the NCAA entity is a membership driven organization. NCAA office staff applies rules voted on by its member schools. NCAA staff decides waivers in accordance to guidelines created by its member schools. Appeals are heard by individuals from the membership.

You think transfer waivers are inconsistently decided, because you operate with a fraction of the information – information only provided by one side that feels wronged. You all don't care when it doesn't impact you, but the one time you feel you've been wronged everyone in the UNC family has a fit.

And along with the stupid recommendation of "sue the NCAA". Who is UNC going to sue?!!? Themselves?!? They too are a NCAA member that has just as much voting power on NCAA rules and waiver process as the next school. Sorry UNC administration is pulling the wool over your eyes and making a big stink of this just because it disadvantages UNC.

Mike 2000 says:

I really don't understand why this is a Big problem for the NCAA! I wish their was a way to sue them for keeping this young man life on whole. How can a person break a rule that came into play after the facts.

The Creator Classroom says:

The RULE was NOT in place when Tez transferred. Period.
