In this episode of ‘Shooting It Straight with Justin Jackson,’ UNC’s first exhibition game is discussed, as well as expectations for the upcoming UNC Basketball season. Then, at the end, Jackson describes the Carolina Mile and how he approached things differently as an upperclassman vs. as a freshman.

This season, former North Carolina Tar Heels men’s basketball player Justin Jackson will host “Shooting It Straight with Justin Jackson.” The show will feature Jackson’s takes on the North Carolina basketball team from the perspective of a former player.

Jackson played three seasons at UNC, from 2014 to 2017. Jackson started 114 games in his UNC career and averaged 13.8 points, 4.1 rebounds and 3.7 assists across all three years. In 2017, Jackson was a consensus first-team All-American and ACC Player of the Year. He also helped the Tar Heels win the 2017 National Championship.

Jackson also has played for six NBA teams in his career after being selected in the 2017 NBA Draft as the 15th overall pick. In 2021, he helped the Milwaukee Bucks win the NBA Championship. In the upcoming season, Jackson will be playing for the Texas Legends of the G-League.

Episodes will release on Thursdays throughout the 2023-24 college basketball season.
