The new-look No. 19 North Carolina Tar Heels picked up an 86-70 victory to start the season against a solid Radford squad. Carolina shot 52% from the floor en route to the win. Armando Bacot had a strong start to the season, putting up 25 points, 13 rebounds and a pair of blocks. Cormac Ryan and RJ Davis added 13 points apiece, while Harrison Ingram dropped 12. Freshman Elliot Cadeau had 5 points and 6 assists in his debut.

Its gonna be a hard year
Not gonna lie, feeling good despite a hot Radford team giving us trouble. Tough defense and they were just draining it all. We have a deep team and were pushing ourselves to the limit in transition (sometimes resulting in turnovers unfortunately). This is a vastly different Carolina team than we’ve seen for a few years and wouldn’t be surprised to see them contend for the ACC with the depth we have
4 assists in last years opener – 18 this year. 3 point shooting leagues better as well.
Meanwhile the other blue bloods blew out their opponents with no trouble. We have a lazy squad with a man who can’t coach.
