Still sounds crazy to hear Coach tell stories about my guy, Porky Spencer. I have a few stories of Porky hooking me up, and whoever I was with, at Carolina games. My Dad and I plus a couple of dads friends would get season tickets so I would go to 4-5 games a year there for a long time. The first thing I would do is call Porky, let him know we were coming down. He had full access to the team and the facilities, and we took advantage of that. From celebrating with the team in the locker rooms after big wins to taking ornaments off Coach Roy's tree and to getting free clothes out of the apparel room. I never knew where Porky would take us after the games. Some of the best times of my life. . Porky was and still is the Mayor of Chapel Hill as I used to call him. Lol Go Heels!!!
Due to the charge rules if a team doesn't have rim protection they're going to struggle. Carolina can protect the rim. Duke right now has work to do or play Christian.
Jaelyn needs to start over Paxson. Paxson doesn't pass the eye test for an ACC starter.
We're making threes in the 1st half better than the 2nd. So I'm not concerned with the 3 yet. It's 2 games. Let's go to Atlantis then evaluate the 3.
New charging rule socks period . It takes away from the defense and puts too much focus on the refs . Defense now is just one thing and that's keeping your man in front of you. I wanna see Carolina jump on Riverside and keep them outta reach all game. I'll predict Carolina wins 97-73. I've been close on the first two games so we'll see.
Honest question;
Why are boys not taught to guard the baseline drive? As a young bball player, we were taught to ALWAYS guard against giving up the baseline!!!
Always force the offense back into help defense. I personally remember many times beating my man to the baseline and placing my foot out of bounds to protect against a baseline drive, and it worked… 😮
i thought the defender previously had to establish position before the offensive player left the ground. what i am hearing is the defender has to establish position before the offensive player plants his final foot before going airborne. charges/blocks and goaltends seem to be called incorrectly more than any other calls.
going to this one as the tickets were decently priced. i want to see a much better team performance than games 1&2. with 10 players that can play important minutes, there is no excuse for D urgency, some more full court press, etc… . we have brought on better shooting but not sure it will be a great 3 pt shooting team. but if their D is solid, they spread the court on O hitting a respectable % outside and move the ball around, this team has a chance to be a great Tar Heel team. cadeau has been a little underwhelming so far but it is early. i now realize why he did not start from game one. i really like withers. he is a long tall pogo stick we have not had in awhile. he is the type of player I saw in last year's elite 8 and FF. when the clock is winding down during a close game when things get frantic, he is the guy that can get the frantic RB or make that block allowing the heels to be leading at the buzzer.
I hope the new charge rule hurts Dook and the new Dook aka UVA.🤞
If they can’t hits threes against UC Riverside, I’m not sure they are going figure it out. Maybe I’m just jaded from the last four years, but this year already smells funny. All that big talk in the offseason is not showing up so far.
The new charge rule puts way too much power in the hands of the refs. Looks like every close game this year is going to be decided by the refs not the players.
This new charge rule seems like they are taking defense out of the game. I’m not excited thinking about teams just running down the floor & shooting barely guarded shots.
Got my tickets I'm ready…I need them to show up and handle business…clean up the turnovers!!!! I can't lie, I'm intrigued by the line up with RJ, Ryan, Ingram, Withers or Washington, and Mondo…got a feeling going forward that line up with get a lot of mins together based on the opponent…and I'm not one of these start Elliot fans b/c I don't see a need to start him with RJ unless you have to..it could work just fine of course.
