North Carolina fought hard, but came up just short at home against No. 1 South Carolina at home, 65-58. The Tar Heels out-rebounded the Gamecocks 45-39 in the game, but it just wasn’t enough. Deja Kelly and Alyssa Ustby each scored in double figures for the Heels, with 20 and 18 points apiece. Ustby added 12 rebounds, 3 assists, and 3 blocks, while Maria Gakdeng finished with 8 points and 10 rebounds. South Carolina’s Bree Hall led her team with 15 points.

I cant get mad at this game as a Tarheel fan we did had played a good game
While I am happy the Gamecocks won, I have to say this game should not have been this close. Dawn fell back into he old habits again and almost cost her team the game. I can't wait to hear why she did not play Fulwiley after the second quarter? Why not make Jah experience a teachable moment? Mistakes happen but let get back in there and trust her… build up her confidence? And why did she chose to keep Feagin off the court as usual (when t icomes to close games.) Why did she let Cardosa limp around the court when it was obvious she was hurt ??? Why did she keep Pao Pao in for as minutes as she did all season. Love Pao Pao but she can rest too. Why does she insist on making her world class guards into fed ex delivery people?. I usually praise Dawn as a G.o.a.t. but every year she cant help herself with headscratching coaching. It cost her at least 2 championships and yet she continues to try to put the square peg into a round hole. These ladies are way better than they played tonight. They have and are an awesome team, but bad coaching will f them up in a heartbeat. Breezy is a Dawg! She came through in a clutch as we know she is more than capable of doing. Her defense is still good as the game went on her decision making was very good. And she and Chloe did their part towads the end of the game. This team is outstanding especially when they play with in themselves and look for their teamates. But I truly worry about coaching. Now, after all that I have said .. Go Gamecocks beat the Bluedevils.
