North Carolina just scored 100 points on KenPom’s number one defense, the Tennessee Volunteers. It came courtesy of a 61-point first half onslaught. Three different Tar Heels scored 20+ points: RJ Davis, Armando Bacot, and Harrison Ingram. Elliot Cadeau had 10 assists and zero turnovers…AGAINST TENNESSEE. Cormac Ryan was able to get back out on the court after his ankle injury late against Villanova.

What a game! The level of focus and intensity were so good. I'm with Coach. Carolina basketball TEAM play. So good. Look at the pictures from the game. Look at their faces! They were having FUN!

In the ACC/SEC Challenge it was mostly home teams that won. Kentucky looks like Final 4 or better, and Duke looks like a first round loser based on just Arkansas – pitiful, missing shots, lack of speed and toughness, way over-rated unless they can develop their freshmen. UNC showed Throttle, like they had in the 2022 run to the national championship game but not evident last year. Miami and Pitt and hugely Duke were the under – performers in the Challenge. UNC with continual development of that Throttle and especially defense shows an upside – right now UNC looks like the best team in the ACC.
Ingram is a stud and can get better…
I think they have 5 guys that can lead them in scoring any time. Cormac is do got a a 20+ game

Good team defense will take this Carolina team a long way. Also i love the fact that we finally have a true pass first point guard. Everything is easier on the court when you have a floor general running the show. Go Heels!!
Jalen Withers doesnt seem comfortable or maybe too anxious out on the court . Ive seen that for a few games now. Seems unsure of himself

Really blown away by this performance! Putting 100 points on the nation's top defensive team says it all. Cadeau and Davis shredded that defense by scoring and getting the ball to the right players in great positional situations. A fantastic mix of interior and perimeter scoring facilitated immensely through the phenomenal passing capabilities and superior quickness of Cadeau and Davis. Well done, Heels!
I need to see how and what they do against UConn and Kentucky to jump board. I’m still in a wait and see with this team.
I know two guys who predicted UNC would score in the 60s. They were 'half' right.
The defense was a huge concern to me.. I went from being happy and confident that this team can win the national championship to feeling like we barely won and wondering why we can never hold leads?? We was up on Villanova by 9 TWICE and lost.. was up on Arkansas and they came back but luckily we fought back.. but then last night up 24 and only winning by 8?? Let's not forget that Tennessee doesn't have the best offense. Kentucky SMASHED Miami and didn't let up. If we do this against Kentucky, they will win. We have to fix the defense ASAP.
Oh yeah, and did I mention every team has a player that goes off on us?! Dickson, Mark, and now Knecht.. we can't stop anyone main player!
I think there was a whole lot of confidence taken away from last night for the starters as well as the bench it shows what this team is capable of

Are we gonna gloss over the fact that we essentially got beat by 14 in the second half? Thats a big part of the story. Yea Knecht went off but we started making some stupid mistakes on offense.
