UNC presses their way to comeback win over FSU | 22-0 run! | RJ Davis is just plain silly

North Carolina continues to show new layers. We already knew that Armando Bacot, Cormac Ryan, Harrison Ingram and company were tough, but they took it to new heights on Saturday, overcoming a 14-point 2nd half deficit to beat FSU. It all started with Coach Hubert Davis utilizing full-court press to try and force some action. It worked beautifully. RJ Davis is playing ridiculous basketball, becoming just the 10th player in Carolina history to score 27+ points in three straight games. The Tar Heels are getting it done at the free throw line, chiefly from Davis and Ryan, but with a surprising third musketeer: Armando Bacot. Seth Trimble made some big contributions and had the highest +/- on the team at +24.

Loved the starting lineup and I believe this might have to be the permanent starting lineup. This is a phenomenal team and Elliot Cadeau elevates it that much more. He is a major difference maker. His passes are the crispest, and the most accurate in transition. The energy that he brings to the game is contagious. His teammates are sharper, more ball aware and ready for one of his special deliveries. Cadeau's court vision is phenomenal as well and allows him to make remarkable passes to his teammates in positions where they can score easily. When he leaves the game is when things seem to bog down for the offense. To me, he was almost left on the bench too long for them to make that comeback. Granted a lull was expected after the top 10 victory over Tennessee, but that can't happen anymore. The Heels are back to playing championship level basketball. Now, as they head into the storm of their schedule, they need all the players to turn on their lights, buckle down on defense, and gear up for success.

Hinson from Pitt is averaging 20 also.

@Lawson828 says:

HD got them boas on one accord

@thenintenerd4207 says:

Definitely a shame to see them not be as energized coming into the game but that's understandable. The important point is they woke up and walked out with a win in epic fashion. I'm impressed with this team's toughness and ability to respond. I think we will learn a lot about this team against UConn, win or lose.

@willallison4988 says:

I couldn't agree more, HD has done a outstanding job so far. I love the plays he runs off of TOs but out of bounds. That press was a great way to speed FSU up and force a couple of TOs. The Hubert haters are handing out with the crickets so far this year. Go Heels

@Michael-dd6hl says:

Carolina will be there in the end of March and probably April . I'm glad to see em move to #9 . That's well deserved. What the heck is Dook doing in the Top 25 at #22 ? That's a bunch of bull malarkey!!!! Coach is doing his job well with the rotation. I think Wojcik is playing his way outta the rotation . Washington needs more minutes at the 4 and move Ingram to the wingman. Go beat those Champs of last season. I know you can. Prediction. …Carolina 82 Connecticut 76 .

@biggkush4796 says:

Definitely can't forget about INGRAM

BIGG KUSH EVERYDAYER CHECKING IN I'm glad to see the press and duke loosing go tarheelzzzz

@adereiojones9889 says:

I wonder what these guys FT percentage is with 2:00 or less to go. That’s a telling stat!

@adereiojones9889 says:

Coach Davis and Staff are doing a great job with the rotations and in game adjustments since Villanova. The players are getting comfortable for the most part. Jaelyn Withers has got to step it up to his potential.

@user-qn6sr1vm9h says:

Being inside the DES Center makes a difference in how you can view the team and coaches. No panic, no blame game, just everyone working hard and listening to the coaches. This year could be special. Hang on and enjoy the ride, lot of games between now and March.

@mikeshaw4610 says:

RJ is not surprising me. Last year he showed how good he could be. This year he is healthy and is not having to also play point. I will not be at all surprised if he averages over 20 points this year.

@ronlytle9563 says:

I love how he's letting the game come to him and plays within the flow of the game.

@meattooth1303 says:

the comeback vs fsu was the loudest i have heard the dome get in a long time.

@ronlytle9563 says:

I can't wait for them to put together a complete game and see what that looks like
