The new AP poll dropped on Monday and the Tar Heels, despite losing their only game of the week, didn’t move at all. They were ninth, and still are. Most of this is due to the teams ahead of Carolina taking care of business while the teams behind them all essentially lost. Could it also mean that some of the national media is taking notice of what RJ Davis, Elliot Cadeau, Cormac Ryan, Harrison Ingram, Armando Bacot, and company are doing? Take note that Carolina’s next two opponents (Kentucky and Oklahoma) are both top 15 teams (14 and 11 respectively).
Drake Maye announced on Monday that he is declaring for the NFL Draft and will forego the bowl game. Multiple other Tar Heels will miss the game, as announced by UNC.

Really want to beat uk and if we do, a loss to Oklahoma would not suck near as bad. Losing to uk but beating Oklahoma is a major net negative IMO. I hate uk right after dook and just a little more than state.

It makes sense that UNC remained unchanged in the poll given the number of teams behind them that lost. I hope the team is fired up about the opportunities that are coming before them next. Here is their opportunity to say to the voters that they are tournament tough. Regarding Drake Maye, it's bittersweet news of him turning pro. Yes, we know it's the right thing to do. No, we're not ready to say goodbye. Happy for the success obtained during his run, but disappointed by the missed opportunities for even greater successes.
