North Carolina went on the road and picked up a massive win over rival NC State, 67-54. It wasn’t pretty, but it was a 3rd straight Quad 1 win. RJ Davis led Carolina with 16 while Harrison Ingram hauled in 19 rebounds. This was another tough, gritty, systematic victory for the Heels.

Trimble should be starting over Cormac. His stats are similar with half the minutes. Just imagine 2x the Trimble. Plus Trimble is Carolina blue through & through. Until Cormac can consistently hit the three, it needs to be Trimble starting with EC & RJ. Might also help Cormac heal up & stay healthy if he’s coming off the bench with a few less minutes.
I think Hubert was pressured to use the bench & it’s working because we were right. The bench isn’t great, but they are enough & the starters need to rest.
Those guys last year could have got 2-4 pts a game if they played with any regularity also. Shows a lot that Hubert finally listened & quit placating everyone with double talk. He’s growing & this is just the beginning of Hubert Davis the soon to be championship coach.
Ingram should have had that double double. Two or three times he passed instead on completing his backdown move to the basket, plus those free throws. Hopefully him & Bacot are walking double doubles come tournament time.
EC could be dangerous if he gets that switch speed, cut to the basket move down.
This defense is Final Four level, but the offense is still not quite Sweet Sixteen level.
State is definitely a rivalry. Those guys love to beat us & ruin our seasons. They aren’t all that competitive, but even a dead wolf could bit you. Plus the coaches & players somehow have less class than duke. Devil dogs is all they are.
If we can become a lot more fluid on offense smh boy this team would become insane..it burns me up that they don't move and cut quickly when Bacot gets the ball if the team is about to double him..this would obviously also lead to getting more open 3 looks…and Ingram my god I was hoping this is what we would get with him…we expect RJ and Bacot to do what they do but the key is having that 3rd guy to fill in all the blanks.
First half was hard to watch. Tarheels turned the ball over way to much. Should have a bigger lead at half time. Finally in the second they started executing much better. Over all a very good win.
