Big East? Purdue is undefeated by the Big East in the past 3 seasons. Purdue beat Xavier at home by twelve then took down Marquette in Honolulu in 2023. They also defeated Marquette, Villanova and Butler the prior two seasons. I think Tyler is a little strong in stating, "No question" that UConn is a better team. Time will tell. I really don't care who is rated #1 right now, and Purdue has some major hurdles to overcome. They have their opportunity to get back to the top. They need to seize it.
Purdue needs to beat IU on the road tonight. Period. Nothing else should matter to Purdue Boilermakers and their fans. Purdue will have every opportunity to get back to #1. But they have to win.
UCONN and Purdue both have 2 losses. UCONN's resume isn't even close to Boilers. But, that's okay. Ratings don't mean much in January. Anybody who has watched both Purdue and UConn consistently knows that Purdue would win in a H2H matchup. Clingan can't stay healthy and would get pushed around like a rag doll by Edey. Purdue has 10 players and has better perimeter shooting… Boiler up!!

Anybody who has watched both Purdue and UConn consistently knows that UConn would win in a H2H matchup. Purdue has Edey. UConn, with a healthy Clingan, takes away a lot of his dominance. They also have 9 quality players and better perimeter shooting.

heels will have to start shooting better without slacking on d. ryan who really is a 6th year Sr is shooting 3s at a college career low and ec lost confidence in his shot early in the season. these two guys start shooting to their ability, opposing Ds will have 5 guys they have to man up on. ec as the pure PG he is, is improving at running the O each game. in other words, his Fr jitters are fading and the game is getting slower for him.

Yesterday this same channel said UCONN deserved to be number 1. So why the constant vacillation? Just to get clicks or piss folks off? Or both? My opinion personally is that the poll AP and Coaches voters are too into very recent games. If you go by the season so far, Purdue has a better body of work than UCONN. But at UCONN, they could beat Purdue. Too bad it can't happen cause I'd like to see a UCONN and Kansas matchup. But it can only happen in the dance.
