The Tar Heel defense was not stout enough and allowed the Orange backcourt combo of Judah Mintze and JJ Starling to score 48 combined points. What’s happened to the defense? That zone was not that impressive. UNC just played as if they didnt have permission to penitrate it. Withers and Trimble in the corners could easily fake a shot and drive around the defender towards the basket. Instead , everyone passed the ball back to the top.

Washington in the middle with the turn around jumper seems elementary. Also, full court defense more often. Could of worn them down. They played with the same 2 gaurds for every play….
Looked like there wasn’t any intensity. We weren’t getting to loose balls. And for gosh’s sake missed so many shots we usually make.
They're starting to remind me of last year's team. You can't keep two little guards out there and defend. It was painfully obvious last night. Cormac Ryan was terrible on passing. He either gets more consistent or goes to the bench. Trimble needs to be in there especially at the beginning to KEEP US FROM FALLING BEHIND early.

The assist thing is easy. They are spending too much time passing the ball around.
I actually think we could have abused Syracuse having Cadeau in the middle feeding Bacot. He was open on the baseline a bunch, but he was clearly looking slowed by whatever was happening with his leg or knee or whatever.
I think Hubert needs to play Washington and bacot together need more defense boy do we miss leaky black play like brice Johnson did and tyler Hansbrough
I've been telling you all year just starting lineup will not get us nowhere Carolina has never started to 6 ft guards at the same time Hubert Davis it's not a defensive minded coach you need to put Withers and Ingram together because may God is not a rim protector and those two little short guards cannot guard nobody is RJ's not making shots we lose
Everyone keeps talking about Tarheels experience. What is the experience level of the NCAA Tournament play for each player? Our losses have seem to happen in that kind of environment.
imo, ec should have been running the normal point position. high ball screens and rolls at the top of the key etc… drive and kicks, etc… heels also have a problem with 1' shots. how many times did we see the heels playing volleyball around the rim with 3-4 attempts but no bucket. i was pi$$ed saying the bacot must touch the ball every possession against their small front court.
Cormac ryan is terrible, he literally has been the reason we have lost 3 games he sucksssa
shades of '01 with the multiple consecutive sunday losses including a sunday NCAAT elimination by PSU. we also are looking more like '23 now. heels looked good in Jan last year but lost 4or 5 of their 1st 6 or so games to start Feb. so there are similarities there as well. maybe we will now be similar to '22 cause after our mid-Feb home loss to Pitt, they went on their run to the title game. a very confusing season as were the 1st HD seasons.
will the heels look good against VT? will they get a win at UVa? Win these next two while hopefully dook drops one and the 2 weeks of garbage ball will be forgotten. We would be back in the ACCR drivers seat.
#1 seed is off the table IMO. 2 may beas well. I am thinking 4-8 at this point. at least it seems they will make the NCAAT this season but not sure if they get past the 1st weekend. what a difference 2 weeks have made. went from looking like a FF team to a 1st/2nd round loss team.
In my lifetime.. this has got to be the most overrated UNC team I've ever seen!!
We have really only blown out two teams that have name recognition, Wake and Syracuse. Everything else were just tough solid double digit wins ( 10 to 15 range) except for far inferior competition

We are quick to criticize when things go wrong, but when you see what we saw last night, I can’t blame the criticism!!
It makes no sense that the weaker teams are scoring at will over us. Seems like we were outplayed and out-coached last night. It looks like everyone has figured us out.
Tar Heels are done, peaked too early I guess and only player(s) I have confidence in are Ingram and RJ…I heard someone, somewhere say Elliot Cadeau is better than Ed Cota. Sike. The only thing they have in common is the E and C. Bacot is soft and the transfer from Notre Dame is just lost.
There's always next year and perhaps those two talented freshmen entering will be an upgrade, but glorified mixtape highlight videos seldom transfer into college hoop reality.
Seem like North Carolina have a case of the Losesitis it started with the Football team and the Girls Basketball team and now the Men,s basketball Team. Bacot talking about the Acc came through him I don't know why he said that defense wasn't there and miss 5 foot shots when he should be dunking anything that close, they might have lost the Acc Championship they just play too lazy and Cormac Ryan is definitely not cutting it he probably was better with Norte Dame if that's where he came from.
