North Carolina took to the road on Saturday to play Virginia in the Tar Heels lone regular season matchup with the Cavaliers, following a week layoff. The Tar Heels won at Virginia for the first time since 2012. RJ Davis looked to continue his campaign for ACC Player of the Year, but it was Cormac Ryan who led the way! Armando Bacot secured his sixth straight double-double. UNC will quickly turn their attentions toward Miami for Monday night.

UVAs offense is so anemic that no matter how stout the defense can be on their home court, it still can't be tough enough to keep them from piling up losses against stellar programs like Carolina's. And we were clearly bothered tonight. Bacot had this vacant stare in his eyes all night. Did you notice it, Issac? I think he let the ref get in his head and you can't do that, ever. You have to shake off the call a ref makes whether you agree with it or not. And the ref(s) were keenly watching the physical nature of the interior play and calling things tight, especially in that first half. Meanwhile, Davis was off kilter as well. So, to win this game with your top talent having their energy output cut in half speaks volumes about how good this team can be in the big dance. We already knew the team can play with the run and gun teams. Now we know we can blow out teams that like to slow down the pace to a crawl and make things ugly, especially when you have a three-point assassin like Ryan swishing threes with ease and you have a floor general like Cadeau with his special deliveries right into the heart of UVAs defense for easy layups. My FAVORITE PASS was the one where he slashed to the right side of the basket, dribbled behind his back, cut left. and dropped a no-look, bounce pass to Washington, which they failed to connect on, but, MY GOD, that was thing of beauty! I'll be rewatching that in the highlights later tonight. LOL.
