North Carolina might not have been able to ask for a better script for Senior Night as Armando Bacot played his final home game at the Dean E. Smith Center, along with Cormac Ryan, Paxson Wojcik, and the rest of the seniors. Was it RJ Davis’ final home game? That’s yet to be determined. North Carolina put away Notre Dame convincingly, as we’ve been waiting for all season. They did so with defense and several extended offensive runs. Critically the Heels held leading scorer Markus Burton to just nine points on 3-11 shooting (season average: 17). The Heels, led by Harrison Ingram’s 14, once again won the rebounding battle, which they’ve now done 19 straight times. UNC clinches at least a share of the ACC regular season championship, with the possibility of winning it outright on Saturday at Duke.

So since we clinched 1st place after the ND win, what happens if we don’t win on Saturday? Do we share or remain the over regular season champs?
i want Bacot to get his jersey in the rafters. IMO, he got screwed in '22 because they did not vote him as ACC POY. He was the true ACC POY. But now, it looks like Heels will have to win the NCAAT with Bacot getting FF MOP or Team MVP of a Championship team. if he does not get that, I would be for breaking tradition adding a qualification of breaking career UNC records in ether Pts, RBs or Assists. Bacot beat the all time career RBing record in 4 seasons. That alone, imo, should get him into the rafters.
And if RJ can average over 25 ppg from the dook game leading the Heels to the ACCT title while Purdue drops a remaining pre-NCAAT game with Edny not playing so well, hopefully, he can grab one of the qualifying NPOY and get his jersey retired. Worthy's jersey was retired after winning co-NPOY for now defunct Helms NPOY with Sampson while sampson won every other NPOY outright. Then we have Stackhouse who got SI NPOY but was not one of the qualifying NPOYs for his jersey to be retired. If he does not this season, he would be the front runner next season but would have to match or beat his play this season.
This year will be the best chance for the seniors to win it all. I believe RJ should go pro somewhere. But if he wants to return then stay at Carolina. Next year's team won't have a better shot at a Natty.

This is gonna sound wild, but I'd rather RJ Davis turn pro. If he wants to stay in college another year, I hope he remains a Heel. *But* I really want to see him advance his career. As well, I want to see the rest of the backcourt develop. We will have Elliot, Ian, Drake and Seth in a loaded backcourt to wing position and I think having RJ will stunt their growth a bit.
Earlier in the broadcast the University of Yukon. Was the only thing that beat the opponent by in 10 tournament. Correct me if I'm wrong did not UNC with George Lynch team did it
I think Cormac’s tenacity (“see what you could have had”) was aimed not at the new coach/staff, but instead at the ND administration that ‘asked’ Mike Brey to step down. He/players loved Brey.
