The Wolfpack had to hold on late to win their third game in three nights, defeating the Blue Devils 74-69. NC State becomes the first double-digit seed to reach the ACC Tournament semifinals since 2010. The Wolfpack’s bench outscored the Blue Devils’ bench 21-0, and NC State scored 18 points off of just nine offensive rebounds. Five NC State players scored in double-figures with DJ Horne leading the way, coming off the bench to score 18 points on 7-13 shooting. Mohamed Diarra had a double-double with 14 points and 16 rebounds. For Duke, Kyle Filipowski had a game-high 28 points and grabbed a team-high 14 rebounds. Mark Mitchell added 18 points and eight rebounds.

North Carolina played one of their most complete games of the season in bouncing Leonard Hamilton’s Florida State Seminoles in the quarterfinals of the 2024 ACC Tournament, 92-67. Jay Bilas called UNC an elite program that plays with blue-collar energy. What an apt description of this basketball team. Host Isaac Schade coined this iteration of the Tar Heels the “blue collar blue-blood”. The man setting that tone against FSU was none other than freshman Elliot Cadeau. Carolina had one of the more lopsided rebounding efforts you’ll ever see – at one point in the 2nd half, “Florida State” was the 3rd leading rebounder. Carolina will be back in action on Friday evening in the semifinals against a Pitt team desperate to secure an NCAA Tournament bid.

North Carolina’s Cormac Ryan got the Heels off to a hot start and then came up clutch when it mattered most, as he scored a career-high 31 points to help the No. 7 Tar Heels to an 84-79 win over No. 9 Duke. Ryan started the game off making 3-straight three-pointers, and then in the final 10 minutes made 3 more from deep along with 5 foul shots to close out the Blue Devils. The incredible 3-point shooting by Ryan was so good and so important to the win that his outside shooting is good enough to be called our CPI Security: Securing The Win Plays of the Game.

Ishmael Leggett had an amazing game, scoring a game-high and career-high 30 points on 11-18 shooting to go along with 8 rebounds and 5 steals in the win. Blake Hinson added 20 points on 4-6 shooting from three-point range. Cam Hildreth led the Deacs with 23 points in the loss.
