North Carolina is in the same position they were in this time last year – needing a win over Duke in the regular season finale to feel better about their NCAA Tournament inclusion. Pete Nance has found a new gear – and it makes all the difference for the Heels. The interior opens up for Armando Bacot, the driving lanes are better for Caleb Love and RJ Davis, and the entire team feels more confident.

Neither team shot better than 32% from the floor in a game that tied the lowest scoring game in tournament history. Elizabeth Balgoun led the Blue Devils with 11 points while hitting 3 triples. She also had 4 rebounds and 2 assists. Reigan Richardson added 10 points in the win. Deja Kelly led the Tar Heels with 11 points in the loss.

Seventh-seeded North Carolina defeated tenth-seeded Clemson to advance in the Ally ACC Women’s Basketball Tournament, 68-58. Alyssa Ustby led the way for the Tar Heels in the win, scoring a team-high 15 points to go with 6 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 steals, and a block. Deja Kelly followed up with 14 points, and Eva Hodgson had 13 points on 4 made threes. For the Tigers, Amari Robinson put in an incredible effort, matching her career high with 27 points on 9-12 shooting.
