RJ Davis took off his finger tape and had his 3rd double-double of the season – 16 points and 10 rebounds. North Carolina picks up a Quad 1 win. It’s not the first of the season, but the only 1 currently on the resume. Leaky Black & Nance each had 4 blocks. UNC has capability, now they search for consistency.

Clemson got off to a hot start against NC State and simply never stopped in a dominant road win, 96-71. Clemson shot a blazing-hot 60% from the floor, including 53% from three point land. A pair of Tigers finished in double figures, led by Brevin Galloway’s 28 points on 7-9 shooting, including hitting 4-5 from beyond the arc and going 10-10 from the line. PJ Hall followed up with 20 points, hitting 9 of his 11 shots. Hunter Tyson had a 12-point, 11-rebound double double. DJ Burns’ 24 points were the most for the Wolfpack in the loss.

North Carolina picked up a hard-fought, must-win victory on the road against Notre Dame, 63-59. The Tar Heels got it done on the glass, as they out-rebounded the Fighting Irish by 19. Both Armando Bacot and Caleb Love picked up 16 points in the win, with Bacot picking up another double double by adding 11 rebounds. Cormac Ryan’s 14 points led the Irish.

The college basketball game between Iowa and Michigan State had one of the craziest endings of the year as Iowa made an insane comeback in the final 90 seconds.

North Carolina vs. Duke: The #22 Tar Heels upset the crosstown rival #11 Blue Devils, 45-41. North Carolina trailed by seven early in the fourth quarter, but the Tar Heels ended the game on a 10-3 run to get the win. Three UNC players scored nine points to lead the Tar Heels in scoring. Alyssa Ustby had nine points, seven rebounds, and three assists. Kennedy Todd-Williams had nine points and five rebounds. deja Kelly added nine points. Elizabeth Balogun led Duke with 12 points and five rebounds.

No. 22 North Carolina defeated No. 11 Duke and became the first team to beat the Blue Devils in Cameron this year and won the season series with a 45-41 rivalry victory. Much like the first meeting, it was a defensive showdown, with neither team shooting better than 34% from the floor, and both teams forcing 20+ turnovers. Alyssa Ustby, Deja Kelly, and Kennedy Todd-Williams each finished with 9 points to lead the Tar Heels. Ustby grabbed 7 rebounds and 3 steals to round out her performance. For the Blue Devils, Elizabeth Balogun’s 12 points and 5-8 shooting led her team. She also added 5 rebounds.
