Luke DeCock of the News & Observer, and Adam Gold, wonder what UNC basketball’s fate might be this weekend against Virginia basketball, and if a win against UVA basketball would be enough for the Tar Heels to reach the NCAA Tournament.

Reblogged 1 year ago from www.youtube.comNo. 9 Virginia Tech finished off the season sweep over No. 22 North Carolina in style on the road with a 61-59 win. In a back-and-forth affair, it was Elizabeth Kitley’s night to shine, as she became the Hokies’ all-time leading scorer by finishing with a game-high 21 points (and 1,888 for her career). Not only that, she hit the game winner with the score tied at the buzzer. Kitley made it a double double with 10 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals, and a block for good measure. Kayana Traylor followed up with 20 points, shooting 4-6 from three. Deja Kelly had the team-high 18 points and 6 assists to go with 4 rebounds for the Tar Heels. Alyssa Ustby had 9 points and 6 rebounds in her return.
Reblogged 1 year ago from www.youtube.comNorth Carolina hosts Virginia Saturday with an opportunity to pick up a resume-building victory in the hopes of landing an NCAA Tournament bid. Different from the first matchup, Carolina will have Pete Nance and Armando Bacot on the floor. Virginia is vulnerable, coming off a loss at Boston College and struggling with Louisville and Notre Dame. It’s a good Virginia defense but not an ELITE one.
