North Carolina faced a real challenge from College of Charleston, but the No.1 Tar Heels ultimately prevailed, pulling away to a win–and Smith Center biscuits, 102-86. Carolina trailed by 7 at the half, allowing the Cougars to jump to a 50-43 lead, but fought hard and pulled away in the second half. In a twist, Leaky Black carried the Tar Heel offense in the first half, and finished with 15 points on a perfect 6-6 shooting night. Caleb Love finished with 25 points, Armando Bacot had 28, and RJ Davis had 11.

Miami picked up a close win at home against No. 22 North Carolina, 62-58. The Canes held the Tar Heels to just 35% shooting in the victory. Haley Cavinder led the scoring for Miami with 16 points. Jasmyne Roberts came a rebound shy of a double double with 10 points and 9 rebounds. For the Tar Heels, Deja Kelly’s 19 points pushed her over the 1,000 point mark for her career in the loss.

North Carolina gets back in the win column with an 88-79 victory over Wake Forest. Hubert Davis utilized a three-guard lineup of RJ Davis, Caleb Love, Seth Trimble, Leaky Black, Armando Bacot for the final 14:09 of the game. Carolina was +13 in that stretch. Pete Nance missed the majority of the game with a back injury – so Jalen Washington and Justin McKoy initially took the majority of those minutes.

Armando Bacot has now scored 20 or more points four straight games, the first time in his career he’s done so. RJ Davis became UNC’s 81st 1,000-point scorer, the most of any school in the nation (Villanova is 2nd with 70).
