Miami vs North Carolina: The Miami Hurricanes went on the road and handed the North Carolina Tar Heels their third loss of the season, defeating UNC 69-59. Miami held UNC to just 32% shooting for the game, and only 18% from behind the three-point arc. Hurricanes’ Kelsey Marshall led all scorers in the game with 19 points. Endia Banks added 14 points and eight assists for the Canes. Janelle Bailey led North Carolina with 18 points and 15 rebounds.

The NC State Wolfpack pushed the Clemson to overtime at home, with the Tigers prevailing, 74-70. Nick Honor led the Tigers with 21 points off the bench. Clyde Trapp scored 11 points and grabbed 7 rebounds, and Aamir Simms added 8 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 steals in the victory. DJ Funderburk scored 20 points and grabbed 7 rebounds, and Devon Daniels had 18 points / 10 rebounds in the loss.

North Carolina vs. Miami: The North Carolina Tar Heels once again were beneficiaries of late-game heroics as they battled back from a nine-point deficit to beat Miami, 67-65. Andrew Platek drove and hit a tough shot over two Miami defenders in the final seconds to give the Tar Heels the win. Moments earlier Isaiah Wong had made a tough rainbow jumper to tie the game at 65, but Roy Williams opted to not call a timeout and Platek’s heroics gave the Heels the win. Leaky Black led all scorers with 16 points, hitting all four of his three-point attempts in the game.

The North Carolina Tar Heels won another close game, 67-65 over the Miami Hurricanes who continue to play short-handed. Leaky Black had the hot hand for the Tar Heels, leading the team with 16 points on 6-9 shooting including 4-4 from 3-point territory. Black also grabbed 9 rebounds. Day’Ron Sharpe added 12 points and hauled in a game-high 16 rebounds, and Kerwin Walton added 13 points and 4 assists. For Miami, Earl Timberlake scored 12, grabbed 5 rebounds and had 5 assists to lead the Hurricanes.
