Following Bob Huggins’ resignation from West Virginia, the Mountaineers have begun to see a trickle of players into the transfer portal. Keep in mind, the help the Tar Heels most need is a backup frontcourt player. One such ‘Eer is Mohamed Wague who has entered the transfer portal. Based on what he did last year in Morgantown, Wague projects to provide exactly what the Tar Heels would need. Would give great backup minutes at the 5 and provide high level rim protection and, in particular, offensive rebounding.

I like the idea of a traditional center that is competent and capable, and interested in coming off the bench to spell a guy like Bacot. My concern here, however, is that Washington is really getting boxed out of just about any opportunity if this guy comes to Carolina. If Washington is not able to adequately give Bacot at least a few minutes of rest per game, when are we ever going to use him? And how? He doesn't have the lateral quickness to guard a 4 out on the perimeter, and doesn't have the ball handling skills to play the 4 out on the perimeter. I really liked the offense we saw out of Washington last year, and I hope HD can figure out how to use him, but if we bring in this guy from West Virginia, I just don't see how Washington is utilized, is happy, or ultimately, stays at Carolina.
Good idea about getting Wague or Etienne. Another interesting candidate from the transfer portal would be Timothy Ighoefe, center from California Baptist. 7'0", 255 lbs. Also Davion Bradford from Wake Forest, center, 7'0", 270.
I preached this two days ago and someone said 'hard pass.' Isaac you have spoken what I have said all day yesterday. It would be a perfect fit and if you want development in the post, Big May is right there. By the way, there is another big at West Virginia in the portal in James Okonkwo,a 6'9" rim protector who also has two years of eligibility left. One thing is for sure, Bob Huggins could definitely recruit. This dude has similar stats but very active above the rim. UNC needs to get one of those guys for sure.
But if he is looking for more PT we may not be a good fit.

Wague would be a big time get for tarheels back up for Bacot plus Washington would have time to hone in his skills at the 4 spot
