The North Carolina Tar Heels dominated the 3rd quarter on their way to a 75-51 win over the No. 25 Syracuse Orange. UNC star Alyssa Ustby made history during the game, as she became the first player in UNC women’s basketball history to record a triple-double. Ustby finished the game with 16 points, 16 rebounds, 10 assists and 2 steals in the win. Maria Gakdeng was unstoppable for the Heels, scoring a game-high 22 points on 9-12 shooting.

On the road in Pittsburgh, the No. 8 North Carolina Tar Heels pulled away in the 2ndf half on their way to a 70-57 win over the Pitt Panthers. Armando Bacot scored a team-high 16 points, and became the 7th Tar Heel player to surpass the 2,000 point mark in his career. RJ Davis scored 15 points and in the process passed Hubert Davis for 9th all-time in made 3-point field goals at North Carolina. Carlton Carrington scored a game-high 20 points in the loss.
