Fresh off a holiday hiatus, the Coast to Coast Podcast trio of Sherrell McMillan, Sean Moran, and Joey Powell reunite to dissect the four game winning streak that the UNC Basketball squad has put together. For the first time, the Tar Heels went on the road and defeated the #16 Fighting Irish, 61-57. The North Carolina defense held Notre Dame scoreless for 3:40 of the final 3:41 to hold on to the lead. Indya Nivar came off the bench to lead UNC in scoring with 16 points. Nivar also had five rebounds and five steals. Lexi Donarski added 13 points and 6 rebounds. For Notre Dame, Hannah Hidalgo had 17 points, 11 rebounds, four assists, and four steals. In her first game back from injury, Sonia Citron scored 18 points and grabbed seven rebounds.

The #13 Hokies defeated the #3 Wolfpack at the buzzer, 63-62, in a clash of women’s basketball titans. After NC State took an 11-point lead in the fourth quarter, Virginia Tech went on a 12-0 run to take the lead with 1:28 left in the game. Soniya Rivers’ reverse layup gave the Wolfpack a 1-point lead with 1.7 seconds left, but that was enough time for Virginia Tech to inbounds to Elizabeth Kitley for the game-winner. Kitley finished the game with 27 points and 12 rebounds. Georgia Amoore scored 18 of her 21 points in the second half. For NC State, Madison Hayes scored a career-high 21 points and grabbed nine rebounds.

The #14 Blue Devils battled on the road against a tough Fighting Irish team and got the 67-59 win. Duke only shot 35.6% from the field but made 17 of their 21 free throws. Mark Mitchell had the first 14 points of the second half for Duke and finished the game with a career-high 23 points. He also had 14 rebounds in the game. Jeremy Roach added 18 points, six rebounds, four steals, and two assists. For Notre Dame, freshman sensation Markus Burton led the way with 18 points, four assists, and three rebounds.
