The North Carolina Tar Heels are off to their best start since 2018-19, when they earned a No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament. There’s a critical rivalry game at NC State tomorrow night, but before we get there, let’s take stock of where things stand and the path the Heels are on. It’s the last year of Armando Bacot, it could be the last year of RJ Davis, so we need to embrace every moment. UNC is up to No. 7 in the AP Poll and it is earned! Bacot is the ACC Player of the Week and Naismith National Player of the Week. Julius Peppers is to be inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame. Isaac Schade has heard some Harrison Ingram slander and he won’t stand for it.

In a much-anticipated battle of top-20 teams, the No. 8 North Carolina Tar Heels outlasted a tough No. 16 Clemson Tigers club at Littlejohn Coliseum, 65-55. During the game Armando Bacot passed Charlie Scott for 5th all-time on the North Carolina scoring list. Bacot scored 14 points, grabbed 16 rebounds and blocked 2 shots in the win. Chase Hunter scored 17 points and Ian Schieffelin stuffed the stat sheet with 16 points, 11 rebounds, 4 blocks and 5 steals in the loss.

North Carolina goes on the road to get their 2nd straight ACC win AND 2nd straight Quad 1 victory. Armando Bacot had a great performance with 14 points & 16 rebounds. The Tar Heel bench was so helpful, outscoring Clemson’s 14-2, with all 5 bench players scoring – Seth Trimble, Jalen Washington, Jae’lyn Wither, Paxson Wojcik, and Zayden High. RJ Davis tied Bacot for the team lead with 14 points despite being held in pretty good check. How is UNC stringing together wins? Can Bacot keep this up?
