North Carolina’s Armando Bacot is reprising the role of dominant big men in a Tar Heel uniform to perfection. In his third season in Chapel Hill, Bacot is hitting his stride and terrorizing post players in the paint around the ACC. So far this season he is averaging 16.3 points, an ACC leading 12.1 rebounds, and shooting an impressive 57.4% from the field. North Carolina vs. Louisville: The Tar Heels and the Cardinals played an incredible overtime game, with UNC edging out Louisville 90-83 for the win. North Carolina was up by two with 20 seconds left to go in the second half when Louisville’s EL Ellis stole the ball and laid it in to tie the game and Jae’Lyn Withers blocked a potential R.J. Davis game winner to force overtime. All five Tar Heels starters scored 13 or more points with Brady Manek scoring a team-high 24 points. Armando Bacot recorded another double-double, this time scoring 19 points and grabbing 22 rebounds. For Louisville, El Ellis scored all 25 of his points after halftime. Matt Cross had 13 points and 15 rebounds for his first career double-double.

The North Carolina Tar Heels pulled out a victory in Louisville in overtime, 90-83. Brady Manek scored 24 points to lead the Tar Heels and added 6 rebounds. ‘Mr. Double-double’ Armando Bacot delivered again with 22 rebounds and 19 points. R.J. Davis added 18 points, Caleb Love 16 and Leaky Black 13 in the win. El Ellis was the high scorer for the Cardinals with 25 points, including drilling 5 three pointers.

2017 Final Four Most Outstanding Player Joel Berry II joined ‘Inside Carolina Live’ ahead of the N.C. State game to give his perspective on UNC so far this season. His main takeaway is UNC’s defense doesn’t need to be great due to the caliber of its offense. It just needs to show resistance.

The #3 NC State Wolfpack traveled to Chapel Hill and beat arch-rival North Carolina, 66-58 in ACC Women’s Basketball play. Kai Crutchfield led the Wolfpack in scoring with 16 points. Jakia Brown-Turner added 13 points, Elissa Cunane delivered a double-double with 11 points and 12 rebounds, and Kayla Jones added 11 rebound and 6 assists in the win. Kennedy Todd-Williams was the leading scorer for the Tar Heels.
