North Carolina dominated Notre Dame in the low post. UNC scored 56 points in the paint, 27 second-chance points, and had 25 offensive rebounds compared to only 31 total rebounds for Notre Dame. All three UNC big men had double-doubles in the game. Armando Bacot had 20 points and 13 rebounds, Day’Ron Sharpe had 14 points, 10 rebounds, and six assists, and Walker Kessler had 16 points, 12 rebounds, and eight blocks. For Notre Dame, Nate Laszewski was the leading scorer with 13 points.
The North Carolina Tar Heels dominated the Notre Dame Fighting Irish on the interior to win, 101-59 and advance to the Third Round of the ACC Men’s Basketball Tournament. Armando Bacot, Walker Kessler and Day’Ron Sharp each had double-doubles in the game with Bacot leading the team in scoring with 20 points and rebounds with 13. Nate Laszewski and Prentiss Hubb scored 13 points each to lead the Fighting Irish.
