Three other Tar Heels were in double-figures – Cormac Ryan, Armando Bacot, and Harrison Ingram.

The #4 Tar Heels withstood a second-half surge by the Cardinals to get an 86-70 victory. North Carolina never trailed in the game and had 19 assists on 29 made field goals. RJ Davis was once again the leading scorer with 21 points. Davis also had six rebounds, six assists, and two steals. Armando Bacot had 19 points, seven rebounds, five assists, and three blocks. Jae’Lyn Withers had a double-double off the bench with 15 points and 10 rebounds. Skyy Clark led Louisville with 16 points, four assists, and three rebounds. Brandon Huntley-Hatfield added 15 points and six rebounds.

The Wolfpack battled back from double-digit leads all night to emerge with an 83-76 victory over in-state rival Wake Forest. NC State guard DJ Horne led the way for the Red and White with 21 points and 2 assists, and Ben Middlebrooks chipped in 14 points and 6 boards. Andrew Carr led all scorers with 28 points and Kevin Miller notched 21 points including going 15 of 15 from the charity stripe for the Demon Deacons.

North Carolina will host Louisville on Wednesday night in the Dean E. Smith Center, favored by 21.5 points. Unfortunately, Louisville’s struggles continue, but it’s no reason to let up. RJ Davis, Armando Bacot, Harrison Ingram and crew must continue to play at an elite level regardless of opponent. Jae’lyn Withers faces his former team – can he have a big game?
