For the first time in his North Carolina career, RJ Davis will be sharing the backcourt with a pure point guard. So it begs the question: Should Davis focus in more on scoring or facilitating in 2023-24? Elliot Cadeau’s skill set allows him to be a primary facilitator and perhaps allow the Tar Heels more role definition in the backcourt.

How long are scholarships good for? Are they one year commitments? Are they four year commitments? Can I lose my scholarship?

On Sunday evening Alabama guard Jahvon Quinerly unexpectedly announced intent to enter the transfer portal as a grad transfer. It’s highly unlikely he makes sense for North Carolina, but it’s worth having a preliminary conversation with the young man to determine the feasibility. The backcourt rotation appears to be full with RJ Davis, Elliot Cadeau, Seth Trimble, Cormac Ryan and Paxson Wojcik.

Leaky Black and Pete Nance have each signed a contract with an NBA franchise. For Black, it’s a two-way contract with the Charlotte Hornets. For Nance it’s an Exhibit 10 contract with the (family legacy) Cleveland Cavaliers. We eagerly await their performance at summer league.
