Wrapping up the GG Jackson saga | Where does UNC Basketball turn next in the class of 2023?

2022-23 North Carolina Tar Heels Basketball Roster Preview: Caleb Love

It’s the tenth week of the 2022-23 North Carolina Tar Heels men’s basketball roster summer preview series. We have gone through the freshmen (Seth Trimble, Jalen Washington, Tyler Nickel, Will Shaver), the transfer (Pete Nance), the sophomores (D’Marco Dunn, Dontrez Styles), and now we finish the juniors, having already talked about Puff Johnson & RJ Davis. Today we set our sights on Caleb Love, a 6’4″, 200-pound guard from St. Louis, Missouri.

In his sophomore campaign, Love added at least five percentage points each to his field goal percentage, his three-point field goal percentage, and his free throw percentage. The sky is the limit in Love’s junior season as he and Davis combine to lead the Tar Heel backcourt.

Check out the other videos in the 2022 Summer Stats Series:

The Roy Williams-era Tar Heels rebounded at or the near top of the NCAA on an annual basis. Heading into Hubert Davis’ first year at the helm for UNC, many wondered how his more modern lineup would fare in the rebounding department. Would trading two traditional bigs for one traditional center and a stretch-four yield the same results. After losing Day’Ron Sharpe to the NBA and Walker Kessler (Auburn) and Garrison Brooks (Mississippi State) to transfer, would Armando Bacot, as the lone holdover be able to replicate the success Carolina has long-enjoyed on the glass?
