North Carolina hosts Virginia Tech on Saturday for the first and only meeting between the Tar Heels and Hokies this season. Carolina has lost three of five, but can make that a distant memory with a strong closing stretch to the regular season. In order to get there, Carolina needs to re-find the form that made them the 2nd-best team in defensive efficiency at Torvik throughout their 10-game winning streak. Can Carolina find some new wrinkles to get more efficient two-point shots for RJ Davis? Will Armando Bacot continue to thrive? The Hokies have two rather familiar foes in Hunter Cattoor and Sean Pedulla.

Tim Donnelly says UNC basketball needs to run the offense more through Armando Bacot, and that head coach Hubert Davis needs adjust North Carolina basketball’s offense right now while RJ Davis hasn’t been as efficient.

The North Carolina Tar Heels snapped a 4-game losing streak with their 75-62 win over the Pitt Panthers. Four players scored in double figures for the Heels, led by Lexi Donarski’s 20 points. Deja Kelly added 17 points and Alyssa Ustby chipped in 14 points, 10 assists and 7 rebounds in the win. Liatu King scored 16 points and tallied 14 rebounds in the loss.

North Carolina has dropped three of their last five after rattling off 10 straight. Hubert Davis’ club now has six remaining regular season games to round back into form before the ACC and NCAA Tournaments. What do they need to do to get back on track in that stretch? RJ Davis has had interesting shooting splits of late, shooting over 40% from three and around 25% from two in UNC’s last 4 games. That’s directly coincided with Armando Bacot having his first stretch of four straight double-doubles. Coincidence? Or is there something to it? North Carolina’s bench usage has fallen to 331st in the nation – why are we seeing even less and less of the bench?

The Tar Heels are back at it again and this time it’s the second installment of UNC vs Syracuse. Can the Tar Heels defeat the Orange this second time around? Not easy to do in the ACC. North Carolina barley defeats Miami in Miami in their last match up to remain at the top of the ACC. A humongous Carolina blue bullseye on our backs every time we step on the floor, the Heels can’t afford to have an off night. The Tar Heels at Syracuse! Here we go!
