Coach Cronin and seniors Jaime Jaquez Jr., David Singleton and Tyger Campbell spoke to the media after the NCAA men’s basketball “Selection Show” had concluded on Sunday afternoon. The Bruins (29-5) will face UNC Asheville (27-7) this Thursday night at the Golden 1 Center in Sacramento, Calif.

North Carolina basketball turned down an invitation to the NIT after not being selected for the NCAA Tournament. Joe Ovies & Joe Giglio say the NIT isn’t worth it for UNC, and Giglio points out that UNC fans aren’t mad they passed on the NIT, but that their team failed this season.

It also means we’ve seen the last of Leaky Black and Pete Nance playing for the Tar Heels. It probably means the same for Armando Bacot, and his record-breaking career, unless he decides to utilize his COVID eligibility. Coach Hubert Davis issued a statement on deciding to not play in the NIT. Have we seen the last of RJ Davis & Caleb Love? Will any freshmen or sophomores transfer?

Joey Powell is joined by Sherrell McMillan and Sean Moran following Selection Sunday. The Tar Heels failed to land a NCAA bid and declined the opportunity to play in the NIT.
