While Bruce Brown prepares to play in the 2023 NBA Finals with the Denver Nuggets, we are looking back at one of his best college performances. Brown had a breakout performance for Miami by scoring 30 points as the Hurricanes took down #9 North Carolina, 77-62. He made 8 of 11 field goal attempts, including 4 of 6 from behind the three-point line. He also contributed with five assists, four rebounds, two steals, and two blocks. As we move to the end of May, North Carolina still has three open scholarships for the 2023-24 season. One possibility to take one of those is Jarin Stevenson, despite not being committed to UNC OR in the class of 2023. Stevenson recently stated he’d like to make a decision by the end of his school year – June 9. Will he be the next domino to fall in UNC’s offseason?

Late last week, the ACC revealed their financials from fiscal year 2021-22, and while the numbers are much better, the inequity between the ACC at number three and the SEC (no. 2) and Big Ten (no. 1) is still massive. What will UNC ultimately do?

Hubert Davis and North Carolina have offered their fifth and sixth scholarships in the 2025 class; both going to a set of twins. But these aren’t your run-of-the-mill twins. These are Carlos Boozer’s twin sons Cameron and Cayden; elite basketball players in the rising junior class. Cameron, a power forward, is currently the No. 1 player in the class while Cayden, a guard, is in the 25-30 range depending on what recruiting service you look at. While the Tar Heels may not be able to snatch the twins away from their father’s alma mater, host Isaac Schade shares why offering them is a great ploy.

North Carolina basketball has had recent ups and downs. Many players like Caleb Love, Leaky Black, Pete Nance, Dontrez Styles, Dmarco Dunn, Tyler Nickle, and Puff Johnson are no longer around and UNC has replaced them with Harrison Ingram, Cormac Ryan, Jaelyn Withers, and Paxson Wojick. These guys along with incoming freshman Simeon Wilcher and Zayden High means theres a lot of turnover on North Carolina’s roster. Hubert Davis and the staff at UNC had their work cut out for them, but these new additions and a potential Elliott Cadeau reclass could mean that North Carolina basketball got better, even with all the departures.
