North Carolina At Chapel Hill

At this point, it’s all too clear: Elliot Cadeau needs to re-classify and come on to Chapel Hill with the 2023 class. The combination of what he can already do and what that skill set would mean for the current roster is too good to pass up. In the transfer portal / NIL era, you have to take when you can get when it’s ready to be had.

If Cadeau comes, the starting lineup for next season likely looks quite a bit different. Previously, host Isaac Schade had suggested a starting lineup of RJ Davis, Cormac Ryan, Harrison Ingram, Jae’lyn Withers, and Armando Bacot. However with Cadeau in the mix, Schade would choose Cadeau, Davis, Ryan, Ingram, and Bacot.

The transfer portal for men’s basketball closes Thursday evening at 11:59pm. Currently, North Carolina has lost six players in the portal – Caleb Love, Puff Johnson, Tyler Nickel, Dontrez Styles, Justin McKoy, and Will Shaver – while adding Harrison Ingram, Cormac Ryan, Jae’lyn Withers, and Paxson Wojcik. Once the portal closes, student-athletes can’t transfer and play immediately; they can, however still commit to a new school if they’re already in the portal.

ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski joins NBA Countdown to detail Bronny James’ decision to commit to play for the USC Trojans in the 2023-2024 College Basketball season. James, the son of 20-season NBA vet LeBron James, is ranked as the 19th player in his class according to the ESPN 100.

Hubert Davis and the North Carolina Tar Heels have extended their fourth scholarship offer in the class of 2025, this one to 6’9 PF Caleb Wilson from the Atlanta area. Wilson joins PF Koa Peat, SG Darryn Peterson, & SG Isiah Harwell as the four young men currently holding offers from UNC in 2025. Wilson has blown up pretty quickly but his game and Atlanta proximity have drawn parallels to recent Auburn Tiger Jabari Smith.
