Today on NBA 2K23 we’re playing with Oregon in a Competitive Pro-Am College Draft League.

North Carolina and East Carolina played a midweek game to make up a rainout from earlier in the season, which had been part of a 3 game weekend series.

North Carolina would benefit from another frontcourt player to help spell Armando Bacot, Jae’lyn Withers, Jalen Washington, and Zayden High. With two remaining scholarships, they certainly have the space to pick up another player or two. One such candidate could by North Dakota State transfer Grant Nelson, who entered the transfer portal on Tuesday after three years in Fargo. He has a unique skill set that pops off screen, but the question becomes: Would his style and usage rate mesh with the rest of the current Carolina roster? That will be up to Hubert Davis and the coaching staff to decide. Host Isaac Schade lays out the cases for and against bringing in Nelson, plus what a starting lineup might look like with him in it.

The Tar Heels took two out of three from the Yellow Jackets in their weekend series to win their fourth-straight ACC Series. Lilli Backes earned her eight-straight conference victory in the circle for UNC, and Alex Brown extended her hitting streak to sixteen games. Emma Kauf notched a stolen base, a triple and a home run on the weekend for the Yellow Jackets.

North Carolina vs. Boston College: The top-seeded Eagles defeated the third-seeded Tar Heels, 11-9 in the 2023 ACC Women’s Lacrosse Championship. This was the second year in a row, and fourth time in the last five tournaments, that Boston College and North Carolina have met in the championship game, and this is BC’s first-ever ACC Women’s Lacrosse Championship. Eagle’s goaltender Shea Dolce had two saves in the championship game and 19 saves across the three games and was named the tournament’s Most Valuable Player. Boston College trailed 9-6 with just under eight minutes left in the third quarter, and the Eagles scored five unanswered goals to close out the game. Kayla Martello had three goals and an assist for BC, while McKenna Davis had three assists and a goal. Cassidy Weeks, Courtney Weeks, and Andrea Reynolds each scored two goals. For North Carolina, Alyssa Long, Olivia Dirks, and Melissa Sconone each scored two goals.

There’s been a rumored connection between Creighton SG Trey Alexander & the Tar Heels, although Alexander is not in the transfer portal. However, Alexander is in the NBA Draft. Despite Alexander not being in the portal, it’s still an interesting conversation to have. He is a rising junior who can absolutely fill it up from beyond the arc. Alexander is definitely worth a look, however, Carolina already has six guards on the roster (RJ Davis, Seth Trimble, D’Marco Dunn, Simeon Wilcher, Cormac Ryan, Paxson Wojcik). Should Hubert Davis add another backcourt player to the mix?
