The NC State Wolfpack staged a come-from-behind 77-66 overtime victory against rival North Carolina in ACC Women’s Basketball play. Jakia Brown-Turner scored 18 points, including shooting 4 of 6 from 3-point land, and grabbed 4 rebounds in the win. Aziaha James scored 18 off the bench for the Wolfpack, including 7 in overtime. For North Carolina, Deja Kelly also scored 18 points, and she grabbed 8 rebounds in the loss. Paulina Paris added 14 and Kennedy Todd-Williams 11 points for UNC as well.

It’s Thursday night, so it’s time for On the Beat Live! Inside Carolina’s crew discusses UNC Basketball’s position on the NCAA Tournament Bubble. ESPN’s Joe Lunardi’s projects UNC as one of his last four teams in, while advanced metrics guru Bart Torvik’s algorithm has the Tar Heels slotted as the final team to earn an at-large team, giving the boys in blue a 53.2% chance of hearing their name called on Selection Sunday.

In the wake of UNC’s on-court struggles this season, many fans have begun to speculate on the likelihood of a mass exodus via the transfer portal. The on-court results haven’t hurt high school recruiting, but will the same be true for hanging onto players like Seth Trimble, Jalen Washington, Tyler Nickel and others? Isaac Schade and Jason Jordan have a discussion about the viability of that speculation.

Because of the strength of the 2024 recruiting class already including Ian Jackson, Elliot Cadeau, James Brown, and Drake Powell, we begin to look at class of 2025 potential recruiting targets. Today’s focus is on Jackson Keith, a sophomore in Durham and why he would make sense in a Hubert Davis system.

No. 15 Miami took the win over North Carolina on the road, 80-72. Miami’s three point defense made the difference for the Canes, as the Tar Heels shot just 5-31 from beyond the arc. Jordan Miller went off for a game-high 24 points on 9-14 shooting with 11 rebounds in the win. Nijel Pack added 23 points on 7-11 shooting in an efficient effort from the floor. For UNC, RJ Davis’ 23 points led the team.
