Northwestern transfer Pete Nance has committed to North Carolina for the 2022-23 season, completing the Tar Heels’ roster. He announced his decision via his Twitter / Instagram on Saturday, June 18.

Nance should slot into the Carolina lineup as the starting ‘4’ alongside RJ Davis, Caleb Love, Leaky Black, and Armando Bacot. He will also provide great backup minutes for Bacot at the ‘5’ when the presumptive ACC Preseason Player of the Year heads to the bench.

The Field of 68 recently released their top 25 returning college basketball players for the 2022-23 season. Three North Carolina Tar Heels made that list, including Armando Bacot (No. 3), RJ Davis (No. 13), and Caleb Love (No. 21). It’s no surprise that Bacot ranked that highly, however it might come as a surprise that RJ Davis was higher on the list than Caleb Love. It shows what the nation thinks about both parts of North Carolina’s starting backcourt and Davis’ importance to the Tar Heels’ success.
