The new-look No. 19 North Carolina Tar Heels picked up an 86-70 victory to start the season against a solid Radford squad. Carolina shot 52% from the floor en route to the win. Armando Bacot had a strong start to the season, putting up 25 points, 13 rebounds and a pair of blocks. Cormac Ryan and RJ Davis added 13 points apiece, while Harrison Ingram dropped 12. Freshman Elliot Cadeau had 5 points and 6 assists in his debut.

North Carolina had a solid performance on opening night of the 2023-24 college basketball season, beating Radford 86-70. The Tar Heels did some things well (like relying on Armando Bacot) and showed others areas in which they need growth (like 1st half turnovers). All things considered, Coach Hubert Davis’ team is in good shape with Bacot, RJ Davis, Elliot Cadeau, Cormac Ryan, Harrison Ingram, Paxson Wojcik and the rest of the Tar Heels for the season ahead.
